I am a saxophonist and music educator based in Toronto, Canada, with a passion for performance, teaching, and fostering an inclusive musical community. I hold a Master of Music in Saxophone Performance and Pedagogy from Bowling Green State University, where I studied under Dr. John Sampen, and a Bachelor of Music Performance from Wilfrid Laurier University. As a performer, I have collaborated with professional ensembles across North America, including the award-winning Rosaurum Saxophone Quartet and SZIVI Saxophone Quartet. I have also performed as a soloist with ensembles such as the BGSU Wind Symphony and the WLU Wind Orchestra, and I have been recognized in competitions such as the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference and the Wayland Chamber Competition.
Teaching is at the core of my artistic identity, and I believe that every student has the potential to thrive as a musician. I currently serve as a saxophone instructor at the Canadian Forces Music Training Centre and maintain a private studio in Canada and the U.S. My teaching philosophy prioritizes inclusivity, creativity, and fostering a safe space for students to explore their musical potential. I also specialize in helping musicians overcome performance anxiety, refine their technical skills, and develop sustainable playing habits.
My approach to music is shaped by a dedication to lifelong learning and collaboration. I have worked with esteemed saxophonists through masterclasses, including Dr. Allison Balcitis, Prof. Masahito Sugihara, Prof. Marie-Chantal Leclair, Prof. Taimur Sullivan, Dr. Preston Duncan, and Dr. John Sampen. As both a performer and educator, I strive to inspire musicians to develop their own artistic voices and to create a meaningful impact in the musical arts. Whether on stage or in the classroom, I am committed to building a diverse and supportive musical community that encourages creativity, expression, and growth.
