Back by popular demand!
We are excited that our Chamber Music Intensive (previously known as the Chamber Music and Performing Arts Camp) will be offered again this summer. This camp is dedicated entirely to group music-making!
While there is no age restriction for participants, they must be able to play repertoire at RCM level 6 or equivalent. Please note that your participation is not guaranteed even if you meet the level requirement, but we have other camp options to choose from. Ask your teacher if you are unsure. Participants will be placed in instrumental duos, trios, quartets, and quintets and assigned repertoire based on their instrument and level.
Our camp will once again be held in the Savvas Chamberlain Music Building at Wilfrid Laurier University, with the final performance in the Mezzanine on Friday, July 31 at 2 p.m.
There is a half day (9 a.m. - noon) or full day (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.) option. Please note that if you are selecting the half-day option, participants should be available for the full day on Friday, July 31 for the performance.
Participants who select the full-day will participate in one of two options: Artshine (visual arts) or our Percussion Ensemble with Max Lindsay. All younger (under 10) participants will be directed to the Artshine portion.
Important note: Repertoire will be sent to participants before the camp starts. The purpose of the camp is to work on aspects of ensemble playing. Therefore, it is essential that campers can play their individual parts fluently before camp starts. This will ensure that everyone has a fun and rewarding experience. Please remember - not knowing your part in an ensemble is letting down your teammates!
Participants new to LAMA may be required to submit a video of their playing.
