Sept. 15, 2021
Print | PDFAs part of the ongoing construction work taking place on King Street, Enbridge Gas is performing a shutdown of a natural gas line this upcoming Saturday, September 18th, 2021 from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.
This shutdown will affect the natural gas service to both the Battery Energy Storage Building (under construction), and Science Building on the Waterloo campus. Any items in these buildings requiring natural gas such as heating, and domestic hot water will be unavailable during this shutdown.
Upon completion of the work, the gas lines will need to be purged for a short duration, resulting in the potential smell of gas around the gas meters at the corner of Bricker and King Streets, and around the Aird Building and Clara Conrad Residence. Facilities and Asset Management staff are working with Enbridge to support the shutdown, but if there are any concerns in other locations, they should be reported to the Special Constable Service Communications Centre at 519-885-3333.
