Print | PDFOn Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Facilities and Asset Management group, along with our contractor, Johnson Controls, will be conducting a power shutdown to the main block of the Waterloo Campus in order to facilitate commissioning and testing of the microgrid power generation system. The required testing will take approximately 10 hours each day in order to complete.
During this time, power will be shut off to all buildings located on the campus block (bound by Albert Street, Bricker Avenue, King Street and University Avenue) EXCEPT for Martin Luther University College Building. Power is not expeccted to be off for the entire day, but will be off intemittently with the microgrid providing power to the campus during testing. Any systems powered by generator backup will continue to function during the work window, and will not be affected by this work.
Please note that access into the affected building(s) will be restricted during this work. For access questions related to this work, please contact campusaccesscontrol@wlu.ca
