Print | PDFPlease note that on Sunday, April 30, 2023, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Facilities and Asset Management, along with our contractor Johnson Controls, will be conducting rotating intermittent power shutdowns to buildings on the Waterloo campus as part of the commissioning of the microgrid/power generation project.
This work will affect all buildings located on the campus block (bound by Albert Street, Bricker Avenue, King Street and University Avenue) except for Martin Luther University College and the Athletics Complex.
As a result, the following buildings will be placed in controlled access for the duration of the planned intermittent power shutdown:
As part of this testing, buildings will experience periods of unstable power during this timeframe. Please note that any building equipment connected to generator backup will continue to function during this work.
Please note the above buildings will be placed in controlled access during this work and there will be rotating intermittent power shutdowns. As a safety precaution, the elevators in the affected buildings will not be operational during this time. Upon completion of the work, the regular Building Hours Schedule will resume at 5:00 p.m.
