Print | PDFAs a reminder to the campus community first year students will be arriving on Waterloo campus to move into residence beginning Friday, September 1 through to Sunday, September 3, 2023. Please expect increased activity and traffic in all parking areas in and around residence buildings during this time.
To assist with the traffic flow on these dates there will be restricted access/lot closures for many of the parking lots and traffic will be designated one way in several areas over the weekend.
The campus entrance from University Avenue West (Mid Campus Drive) will be open and designated as a controlled EXIT ONLY to assist with increased traffic flow and congestion during Residence move-in. This area will be limited to one-way vehicular traffic for the purpose of exiting campus, and traffic will not be permitted to enter the campus from University Avenue during this time.
On Friday, September 1, 2023 the Gold Permit Lot 16 (Macdonald House Residence) will be closed to assist with move in at the adjacent residence buildings. Although there will be increased activity in and around residence buildings and campus roadways all other permit parking areas will remain open to permit holders on this date.
On Saturday, September 2 and Sunday, September 3, 2023 the Gold Permit parking will be limited to Lot 11 (accessed from University Avenue, located adjacent to Dining Hall), Lot 32 (Lazaridis Hall), Lot 40 (Career and Co-op Centre), and Lot 43 (230 Regina St). Parking in any other parking lots will not be permitted on these dates.
To assist in facilitating Orientation Week activities there will be parking restrictions in the following permit areas:
Please refer to the The Waterloo Campus Interactive Map should you require assistance in locating appropriate parking for these dates.
Staff and volunteers will be on campus assisting with traffic flow on all of these dates. Your co-operation is appreciated as we assist our incoming students with a safe transition to campus.
