Our newest scholarship, the Laurier Scholars Award, recognizes academic achievement and leadership qualities with an award valued up to $40,000 over four years.
When you apply to Laurier, you’re automatically considered for an entrance scholarship if you are:
Entrance scholarships are offered based on your admission average as of July 2025. No application is required. If you are not eligible for an entrance scholarship, you may be eligible for other scholarships, awards and bursaries.

*Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and BBA double-degree students are eligible for entrance scholarships with an admission average of 90% and higher. The competitive admission range for the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and BBA Double Degrees begins at low 90s and above.

You must be registered full-time (2.0 credits minimum per term) to receive the full entrance scholarship amount and you must be registered in two terms within your first academic year (an academic year at Laurier is from September to August). The value of your entrance scholarship is split between your first two terms of study.
If your admission average is 95% or higher, we will award you with the President's Gold Scholarship for your first year at Laurier, which is worth $4,000 for domestic students and $6,000 for international students. If you maintain the eligibility requirements, you will receive another $4,000 (domestic) or $6,000 (international) per year for four years (or up to five for some programs).
This scholarship is automatically renewable if you achieve an annual GPA (grade point average) of 10.5 or higher based on the completion of a minimum of 5.0 full credits during the past academic year. Students who receive the President's Gold Scholarship are not eligible to receive in-course scholarships. See the full eligibility requirements to maintain your President’s Gold Scholarship.
The prestigious Laurier Scholars Award is an annual entrance scholarship that was established in 2021 to offer high-achieving students the opportunity to participate in a dynamic learning environment that will foster innovative thinking and ethical, visionary leadership. This award is worth up to $40,000 over four years.
This scholarship requires an application. The application will open December 2, 2024 and the deadline to apply for fall 2025 is Feb. 25, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.
The Stay Golden at Laurier scholarship is a renewable entrance scholarship for international undergraduate students who begin their studies in fall 2024 or winter 2025. The value awarded is based on your final admissions average for your first year, then your GPA during your studies at Laurier for upper years. This award is worth up to $20,000 CAD over four years (and up to $25,000 CAD over five years for approved five-year degree programs).
At that end of your first year at Laurier, you will be automatically considered for in-course scholarships based on your Laurier GPA (grade point average). In-course scholarships are valued between $1,250 and $1,500 annually. In-course scholarships begin at a GPA of 10.5 and above (or approximately 85% and above).

Based solely on financial need, entrance bursaries are worth a maximum of $1,500 and do not need to be repaid. Once you have applied to Laurier, you can apply for a bursary until the deadline. To be eligible, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and attending postsecondary for the first time.
This bursary is for upper-year and transfer students. You are assessed based on your financial need. To be eligible to apply, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
Entrance scholarships and awards are available to students entering their first year of a full-time program at Laurier who have no previous attendance at postsecondary educational institutions (university or college).
Some entrance scholarships and awards are only available to students entering Laurier’s Brantford campus. We also have award opportunities that are specific to a program of study. Descriptions of Laurier’s awards opportunities are listed on the Student Awards Search Engine, and each description will indicate if it is an award or a scholarship, as well as the eligibility criteria for each.
Every year, you can apply for competitive scholarships, awards and bursaries by completing an online student profile about yourself. Awards are granted based on the information you provide, including your interests, involvement, financial need, academic achievement and more. The application process begins in June and there are up to three profiles to complete once you accept your offer.
The President's Gold Scholarship is renewable. Students who do not receive President's Gold Scholarship will be automatically considered for our in-course scholarships in their upper years at Laurier. Depending on your GPA, you could receive between $1,250 and $1,500 annually.
The Laurier Scholars Award also be renewable.
Your scholarship average is the same as your admission average, which may include your grades in any required courses. Learn how to calculate your admission average.
Your scholarship will be automatically applied to your fee invoice. The amount of your scholarship award is split between your first two terms of study. These two terms must be within the same calendar year (Laurier's academic calendar year in September to August, and there are three terms: fall, winter and spring) and you must be registered in full-time courses (2.0 credits) in each term of the two terms to receive your full entrance scholarship amount.
We will use your final grades as of July 15, 2025. Summer school courses will not be counted in your scholarship average.
